Dr. Robin Toft Klar has been involved in global health care as a nurse clinician, researcher, and educator since 2007. Her global work started with a clinical question: What health behaviors are impacting the high infant mortality of Ghanaian immigrant mothers in central Massachusetts? An ethnographic research study in Ghana highlighted how women keep themselves well before, during, and after pregnancy.This research is reported in

Klar continues her global health care work in Ghana and beyond, after a one-year global health post-doctoral fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Papua New Guinea, as a faculty member at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Her global health workforce development projects are in Rwanda, Liberia, Ghana, and Tanzania.
